Golf Card Game Score Sheet
Updated
A Golf card game score sheet has a column for each player and a row for each hole, the 9 or 18 deals of a game. After each deal, write the points of every player's layout; the lowest total wins. The free sheets fit up to 8 players on a Letter page, with the six-card Golf card values at the foot.
How to keep score
- Write the players' names across the top. Each row is one hole: one deal, played until a player's whole layout is face up.
- Turn every layout face up and count it. Pairs of equal cards in a column count 0, then add the rest: kings 0, twos -2, aces 1, jacks and queens 10, the other cards their number.
- Write each player's points on the hole's row. A negative number is possible.
- After the last hole, add up each column. With 18 holes, fill in Out after hole 9 and In after hole 18 first.
Six-card Golf card values
Six-card Golf deals each player two rows of three cards. Pairs in a column are what lowers a score most, so most players chase them before low cards.
| Card | Points |
|---|---|
| Ace | 1 |
| Two | -2 |
| Three to ten | Face value |
| Jack, queen | 10 |
| King | 0 |
| Pair of equal cards in a column | 0 for the column |
Golf has many versions: four-card Golf, where players knock to end the deal, and nine-card Golf, where a column of three equal cards scores 0. Some groups add jokers at -2 and make twos worth 2. The values above are the six-card game on Pagat, the card game rules site run by John McLeod; the sheet's boxes are blank, so it fits every version.

Golf card game questions
How many rounds is the Golf card game?
Nine deals, called holes, like a round of golf. For a longer game play 18; the 18-hole sheet adds up the front nine (Out) and the back nine (In) before the total.
Is a low or high score better in Golf?
Low. Every card left in your layout counts, so you replace high cards and make pairs. The lowest total after the last hole wins.
What does a pair of twos score?
Zero, like any pair of equal cards in the same column, even though a single two is worth -2. Some groups let two twos in a column keep their -4.
How many decks for 6 players?
Two. One standard pack covers 2 to 4 players; add a second for 5 to 8 and a third for more than 8.
